Inmaculada Olivero, the regional delegate for Economy, Finance, and European Funds for the Regional Government of Andalusia in Cádiz, is participating in the presentation of the regulatory guidelines for carrying out projects at the Center—the final step before operations begin.
The Regional Office of Economy, Finance, and European Funds of the Regional Government of Andalusia in Cádiz hosted the opening ceremony today for a series of informational sessions on the regulatory framework for developing innovation projects at the Center for Innovation in Advanced Manufacturing Technologies (CFA). The Deputy Minister of Economy, Finance, and European Funds, Amelia Martínez, and Regional Delegate Inmaculada Olivero participated in the opening of the event, which has attracted more than 200 companies and organizations that have expressed interest in accessing the center’s services, which will be available starting in June of this year.
These guidelines set forth the criteria for the submission and evaluation of projects to be carried out at the Center. To gain access to CFA services, interested entities must submit a proposal for an innovation project, which will be evaluated in accordance with the principles of publicity, open competition, transparency, non-discrimination, and equal treatment of all candidates. The services to be provided will have publicly available rates. Projects must be submitted via email to cfa@fidamc.es or directly through the website fidamc.es/cfa.
The CFA is an industrial complex currently under development in Puerto Real, with an investment of 18.31 million, funded by the ERDF. The center has the necessary equipment and resources to become a leading national facility that will enable companies—on their own and with the appropriate technical support services—to develop technologies that can be easily applied and transferred to their production processes.
During the event, which was also attended by Ernesto González, executive director of the Foundation for Research, Development, and Application of Composite Materials (FIDAMC)—the organization that manages the center—the CFA’s technological capabilities were presented, along with details on the rules governing access to the center, the deadlines, and the requirements for participating in the call for projects. This presentation was given by Isaac Pérez-Fafian, the CFA’s Executive Director. In addition, the CFA’s Head of Operations, Javier Romalde, presented the center’s equipment.
Companies interested in submitting projects to gain access to the center come from industrial and high-tech sectors such as aerospace, shipbuilding, rail, plastics, and the biomedical sector, although companies from other sectors—such as those in the Ubrique leather cluster—have also expressed interest.
The center has been designed using a strategic model based on technology sectors and provides resources that enable the regional ecosystem to become more competitive and increase the adoption of new technologies. To this end, it features cutting-edge technology in advanced manufacturing: additive manufacturing, robotics, 3D scanning, metrology, and drones.
