The Cádiz Advanced Manufacturing Center (CFA) has the EOS SLS 770, an industrial 3D printer based on SLS (Selective Laser Sintering), designed to produce functional polymer parts with high precision and repeatability.
SLS technology is an additive manufacturing process that fuses polymer powder particles using a high-power laser, layer by layer, to form a complete three-dimensional part. This system makes it possible to manufacture complex components without the need for molds or specialized tools, reducing development times and facilitating the production of custom parts or short runs.
In the case of the EOS SLS 770, it is alarge-format industrial solution that stands out for its production capacity. The system features two 70-watt lasers and a build volume of 700 × 380 × 580 mm, allowing for the production of large parts or multiple components in a single production run.
This technology primarily uses technical polymer powders, such as polyamides or thermoplastic elastomers—materials that offer mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and good thermal properties. Thanks to these characteristics, parts manufactured using SLS can be used not only for prototypes but also as final functional components in various industrial sectors.
Notable applications include the manufacture of functional prototypes, industrial tooling, housings, lightweight structural parts, and components for industries such as shipbuilding, aerospace, automotive, and biomedical.
The addition of the EOS SLS 770 strengthens the CFA’s capabilities to develop innovation and technology validation projects, offering companies and technology centers access to advanced industrial resources without the need for large initial investments.
