The Cádiz Advanced Manufacturing Center Showcases Its Potential on Canal Sur's "EnRed" Program

The Cádiz Advanced Manufacturing Center (CFA) was recently featured on Canal Sur’s EnRed program during a visit that provided insight into the center’s operations and its role as a strategic infrastructure for driving industrial innovation in Andalusia.

During the tour of the facilities, Isaac Pérez, director of the CFA, and Javier Romalde, head of operations, explained how the center provides companies and SMEs with advanced technology to carry out innovation, research, and process validation projects without the need for large initial investments. The CFA was founded with a clear focus on knowledge transfer, connecting universities, technology centers, and industry within a single ecosystem.

The center has four major technology areas: additive manufacturing, metrology and digitization, robotics and automation, and drones, all of which are designed to address the challenges faced by key sectors such as shipbuilding, aerospace, construction, renewable energy, and biomedicine.

A prime example of this is the field of additive manufacturing, where the CFA has a wide range of technologies that enable it to produce everything from large-format parts made of polymeric materials to smaller components made of metal. These capabilities make it possible to develop prototypes, validate designs, or manufacture functional parts tailored to various industrial sectors.

Another fundamental pillar of the center is the metrology and digitization division, which focuses on the measurement, inspection, and 3D scanning of manufactured parts and prototypes. These technologies ensure dimensional accuracy, quality control, and process traceability—key aspects in advanced industrial environments.

In addition to these areas, the CFA incorporates expertise in robotics, automation, and drones, broadening the range of available technological solutions and reinforcing its multisectoral nature. All of this makes the center a leading hub for companies seeking to innovate, improve their production processes, and move toward Industry 4.0.

Participation in the EnRed program has helped raise public awareness of the work being done at the CFA Cádiz and its contribution to the industrial and technological development of the province and Andalusia.
